Severe thunderstorm watch in effect

Environment Canada

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Locations: Portions of southwestern Manitoba and southeastern Saskatchewan.

Time span: This evening through to midnight.

Remarks: Thunderstorms have developed over western North Dakota and will track northwards towards the international border this evening. Localized downpours, large hail and very strong wind gusts may accompany some of the thunderstorms.

Be prepared for severe weather. If threatening weather approaches, take cover in a basement or interior room. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
