The Rural Municipality of Swift Current No. 137 is conveniently located along the No. 1 Highway and immediately surrounds the City of Swift Current. The Municipality has a diverse population in excess of 1900 people, with Agriculture being the predominant industry, along with significant Commercial development along the No.1 Highway and Country Residential properties in close proximity to the City. In addition, the Municipality also enjoys the benefits of oil and gas development in the area.
The Municipality operates its own paid on call fire department and has agreements with the City of Swift Current for Emergency Rescue.
The Municipality benefits from a Regional Park to the South and a Provincial Park to the north, which provide boating, fishing, camping and golfing opportunities to the public
