Regulations

1) Keys shall be obtained in the following manner only:

    – the RM of Wawken Administrator will issue the key;

    – an agreement for usage shall be signed and kept on file at the municipal office;

    – full payment shall be received when key is obtained.

2) Keys will only be issued to landowners that reside in the R.M. of Wawken.  As the R.M. of Hazelwood No. 94 contributed funds towards the initial drilling of the community well in October 1989, landowners that reside in the R.M. of Hazelwood will also be allowed to rent a key.

3) Keys will only be rented out for the purpose of obtaining a residential supply of drinking water.  Keys will not be issued for any other purpose.

4) The annual fee for renting a “well key” is $50.00. The well key is to be returned to the Municipality if the invoiced amount is not paid by March 31st of that year.

5) No exchange of keys is allowed and there will be No sharing of keys between households.  Keys no longer required must be returned to the municipal office and      will be reissued by the Administrator.

6) The municipality will only prorate keys for the community well if the purchaser buys and pays for the following year at the same time.

7) Keys lost are to be replaced at the expense of the person that originally obtained the key, as per our files.

8) Keys will NOT be issued to spray companies or water hauling companies.

9) No chemical containers – full or empty – allowed at the well site. No spraying equipment is allowed at or near the well site.

10) Failure to comply with stated regulations will result in loss of all water privileges. The person in contravention shall be guilty of an offence and liable to summary conviction as specified in Bylaw 05/2004.e can be used to display the various amenities available in the municipality.
